Hay, girl! Happy Valentine’s Day!

This morning’s Zoom with June provided me with an opportunity to work on more Valentines cards for my family. I made each one specific to my kids’ interests. My daughter, she loves horses and participated in her first Rodeo last summer. I like to have puns in my cards so I made sure to put hay in the foreground so I can have the inside read “Hay, girl!” I think she will love it. Especially since it’s accompanied with dark chocolate.

You make a great imPrussion, Valentine!

My son loves history and has a special interest in all things Prussian. I painted him a card with a Prussian Soldier. The hardest part of these cards is waiting until next week to get to see their reactions. I think they turned out really well.

Happy frelling Valentine’s Day!

My youngest son is my biggest Farscape fan. He took the painting of Aeryn Sun I made last week and had me hang it above his bed. He has Aeryn and his stuffed DRD keeping him safe every night. So for his card I painted a DRD and will write ‘Happy frelling Valentine’s Day!’ which is a play on a quote from Aeryn in the season four episode Terra Firma where she says, “Merry Frelling Christmas.” He is going to love it!

I made a card for my mom too, but as she reads this blog I’m not sharing that picture yet.

Do you make hand made Valentine’s cards for your loved ones?
