Daffodils, Jacquelyn Block

Today I finally have some relief from my headache. Good thing too, as we had a plumbing issue in our bathroom sink that required several trips to the hardware store, but my husband and I finally prevailed. Our friend came over this evening for dinner and some Stargate SG1 episodes, our Sunday tradition – sci-fi shows.

I got a late start painting and ended up getting lost in painting and squeaked by midnight while deeply absorbed in these daffodils. I still consider it today though, as I haven’t slept yet. Painting white flowers is a challenge for me as I don’t really like using mask-it so it takes a bit more care on my part. I think it looks a little better, although I have art friends who use masking fluid expertly. So it’s probably just a matter of practice, as with most things. I just don’t have the desire to invest much time in that.

Do you use masking fluid in your paintings?
