A few weeks ago we received a sudden and unexpected announcement that my children’s school was closing after this year. The school parents immediately came together and were seeking a way to save our beloved school. This evening we were invited to learn about the plan to save the school. There is more hope than it seemed originally and I pray that we can pull it off. The school has been such a wonderful place to educate my children. My daughter’s eighth grade year was derailed by the pandemic so we were looking forward to celebrating my son’s full eighth grade experience next year. My youngest is in kindergarten and we hope that he will have a long and successful time at St. Germaine as well.
I pass by this statue each morning when I walk my son to his class door. She is beautiful in every season and I often take photographs of her, graced with the morning light. Tonight I paint her while praying for the community to rally around our school and keep it vibrant for years to come.
St. Germaine, pray for us.
This was my first attempt to paint a statue; have you tried painting statues before?
