Today was a good day in the pottery studio. I took home several finished pieces, glazed a few bisqued items and made some new things. I started out glazing the chain I made a few weeks ago. I decided to do a rub and scrub with black underglaze and then added some light blue underglaze for highlights. I really like how it looks, and hopefully it will look just a great after it’s fired.

After finishing up glazing I had plenty of time left to do some hand building. I pulled out my tortilla press to make some quick slabs. I love the texture and thinness of the slabs I get from this method. My husband made me a hump mold on his lathe so it is a quick and easy way to make some little dishes.

All in all, this was a very productive day for me. Tomorrow I hope to assemble my zinnias, so I hope to show them to you then.
When was the last time you had a productive artistic day?
