LPC Collaborative Art

This evening was our art club’s monthly meeting, and since we didn’t have an artist arranged to give us a demonstration, I came up with a fun art activity for us to do. I brought a variety of art supplies from home and placed them around the table. We then each worked on a piece with the theme of ‘motion’ for two minutes. When the timer went off we would pass our painting to the right and continue the painting from our left for two more minutes. We did this fifteen times until we got the painting which we started back.

It was a really fun experience and I love how they all turned out. We have such a creative and talented group of artists in our community. It’s fun to let loose and just have some fun without worrying about the end result.

I think maybe I’ll challenge myself one day with a timer and several paintings and see if I can use this concept in my own art practice. Or perhaps get my family in on the fun and see what we can create together.

Have you worked on a creative collaboration before?
