After warm sunny weather earlier this week Michigan blessed us with snow this morning. It was only slightly below freezing but the wind was sharp. My walk down the street to mail the card I made yesterday was enough to chill me to the bone.

So for today’s painting I chose to find some of my summer photos to choose for inspiration. I decided on a picture I took of my husband canoeing at my mom’s cottage a few summers ago. I think it turned out pretty good, although I need to practice painting water more, I think. My daughter really likes it so that’s a great compliment.
