More than one crisis, Jacquelyn Block

On the heels of yesterday’s bad news about my kids school closing, we found out today that my mother-in-law’s cancer is back. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, so I decided that I would try and capture some of my mental chaos in some digital art. I used some of my recent watercolors for this exercise tonight. I especially like the one above with the combination of the strong vertical component interlaced with the circles prominent in the second painting. It felt like a good image of what’s going on in my head right now.

Peared down, Jacquelyn Block

I also worked on this piece which has some of my pears prominent in the foreground. I like it, but I may continue to tweak it a bit later. I’m going to sleep on it for now.

Do you find it challenging to work on art when your life is full of chaos and uncertainty?
