It’s hard to believe that we are already a quarter of the way through 2024. January seemed to drag on a bit but February and March have just flown by to me. Today was a busy day celebrating Easter with family in the morning and afternoon and then entertaining friends for dinner and Stargate SG-1.

With all the excitement I figured I’d finish this month’s paintings with some more pears. I decided to do a variation on one from earlier this year where I had a pear on its side, stem touching the surface. I decided to try and paint a second pear slightly behind this first pear so that it threw a little shadow on the front pear.

You can definitely see some similarities between the two paintings. I did the earlier painting over two days- first sketching the pears and then the next day adding the watercolor. Today I just started putting paint down right away. It is definitely a different feel between the two.
