Reflections, Jacquelyn Block

This morning I took my daughter to an appointment at Wayne State, and took the opportunity to take some pictures. I love the variety of architecture and the colors and textures in this area of Detroit. The weather was much nicer than forecast, but by the time we were ready to head home the sky was getting quite dramatic. Luckily, it didn’t start with the freezing rain until we were back in the car. With about a half minute to spare!

Now that spring is here, I hope to spend more time exploring midtown on foot. It’ll be good for my daughter to be familiar with the area before she starts school in the fall, and it will give me more opportunities to take photos.

Annoyed, Jacquelyn Block

Of course, she is embarrassed by me snapping all these photographs. She says I look like a tourist. I was also stopped to sign a petition for clean water. She says I look like a bleeding heart and that’s why they approached me. I take that as a complement.

Do you find urban photography interesting?
