Forsythia, Jacquelyn Block

Today was a gorgeous warm spring day in Michigan. The shy was so blue and the sun was shining. I had my windows down in the car while I was out running errands. It felt wonderful. The yellow blooms on a forsythia caught my eye while I was out this afternoon and I knew it would be my inspiration for tonight’s painting.

I truly love spring days like today. It feels like the world is awakening with possibilities. It’s hard for me to not feel optimistic with the explosion of new growth and vibrant colors around me. It’s a welcome relief from the weary days of grey clouds and cold rain. My daughter disagrees with me on that, though. She loves the spring rain.

What is your favorite aspect of springtime?
