Driving around my neighborhood, you see pink blooms everywhere. Nearly every other house seems to have either a magnolia tree or a cherry tree blossoming in soft pink hues. I was debating painting either option today, but opted for the magnolias for this evening’s art. We had a magnolia tree in our front yard growing up. It was a small stunted tree, but it was just beautiful in the springtime.
I hope to get to Belle Isle in the next few days while the cherry trees are in bloom. Then I’ll do a cherry blossom painting for this series. I ran out of the 8×10 paper so the magnolia painting is a little larger, 11X14. I’ll probably so at least four more at this size so I’ll have a balanced collection if I decide to show them together sometime. I’ll have to start thinking about framing if that’s the route I choose.
What spring flowers do you see blooming around you?
