Daffodils Dancing, Jacquelyn Block

While I have several handmade cards painted and ready to use, I felt moved to paint a new card special for the occasion of my cousin’s Memorial. I find daffodils to be very optimistic flowers and I feel like they are just the image I want for a sympathy card. My cousin was a musician, so I tried to paint these daffodils with movement, as if they were dancing to his music. I hope this card will bring some hope and peace to my cousin’s grieving family.

It was nice seeing all my extended family today at the memorial. We used to get together with this side of the family fairly regularly, but not since the pandemic started. Everyone seemed interested in getting together more often outside of tragedy, and I hope that that materializes. All the cousins’ kids are growing up so fast. Soon they will be off to college and too busy to accompany their parents to events like this. Boy does time fly.

Have you found that since the pandemic you have not had the same level of contact with your extended family?
