Conic Light Show, Jacquelyn Block

This morning, I took my youngest son to see the interactive Paw Patrol Exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum. My mom came with us, and my son had a blast at the exhibit. Before and after the Paw Patrol fun, I was able to get a few pictures in, including several great shots of the conic light display in the Mathmatica exhibit area. I really find the photos and videos I take through the peephole to be mesmerizing.

I also took several shots of the steam engines to use as inspiration for some of my steampunk themed pottery designs I’ve been working on.

On the way back home we drove by the new controversial DETROIT sign on 94. I think it looks better in person than in the photos I’ve seen online. It seems to me that it was designed to be the most basic, non-controversial sign they could make, consistent with the city’s webpage design color-wise. I find it amusing that it’s generated such a strong reaction. While I certainly wouldn’t consider it a work of art or bold and innovative, it doesn’t look bad.
