As I walked next to the lilac tree next to my mom’s driveway I could just make out the subtle hints of lilac. I looked up and, sure enough, the first few buds had blossomed. In a few days the fragrance will be heavy in the air and the branches just as heavy with lilac blooms.
I was tempted to start the orange ink painting I’m itching to do, but I really want to wait for the full blooms for it.

Instead I have been looking through my older photos, to help stave off my impatience. Here are some of my favorites, both photographs and art.

Oh. That picture of Leif in Lilacs reminds me I wanted to share a neat sight I found – isitai.com This sight allows you to analyze a photo to determine if it was likely made by a human or ai. Apparently I am mostly human. I had fun one afternoon plugging in a bunch of my art which were mostly over 99% likely human created. But my Leif in lilacs was tagged as most likely ai created. Like 76% likely! Since it’s a composite of my son and the lilac tree in my back yard I can unequivocally confirm that ai had no part in its creation. I am just amused that this particular piece is the outlier of the nearly 100 pics I checked. I did my thesis on AI implications in the art field, so this subject really intrigues me.
How have you used ai or avoided using it in your own art practice?
