Today I wanted to work on the next painting in my orange ink series and I was very eager to paint the lily of the valley. It’s a little challenging to have so much white flowers in this piece. I added a little yellow highlights on portions of the flowers but for the most part they are a pure white, which in watercolor painting is the paper. I tried to create some depth and variety of texture and color in the leaves. I’m not as thrilled with this piece as I was hoping, but maybe it will grow on me. Sometimes a little distance from the expectation I was carrying is all I need to have a fresh perspective and reevaluate it for what it is , rather than what it’s not.
Tomorrow night I’ll be starting another screenwriting challenge. My last script placed 5th in Round one so now I advance to round two. This time I’ll only have three days to write an eight page screenplay. I’m excited to find out my prompts tomorrow night.
