Today was a very busy, very long day. I can hardly keep my eyes open to type this. I am so exhausted my skin hurts. So I decided to try and make a composite photo. I kept dozing off in the creative process and my thumb would be randomly touching the screen. I decided once I got to this stage I should be done. I was thinking these pansies would make a good orange ink painting, but as I’ve only seen them around in pots, I don’t know if that should count for being ‘in season.’
Today was physically, mentally and spiritually draining. My best friend who died had his birthday last Thursday. I spent the morning with his sister, sharing our heart break. Then in the afternoon I went with another friend to visit his grave. I feel a little better after the visit. The next time I visit I plan on bringing some flowers to plant. Also, I think I’m going to start carving some soapstone figures. It is customary to leave a stone on the grave when you visit and Brianscotte loved little figurines. I would make him clay figures and he would name them and give them intricate backstories. He’d love to have a little village of stones figures on his grave. I gifted my husband a stone carving set, and he is happy to let me use it. Maybe I’ll work on one over Memorial day family camp.
What simple figures should I try carving first?
