Golden Grass, Jacquelyn Block

Today was a busy and fun filled day at family camp. In the morning after breakfast my youngest son and I went to the archery range and then arts and crafts. I took advantage of the art time to work on a second painting, combining watercolor painted plants with a gold ink drawing in the foreground. I am liking how this turned out.

While I was waiting for the watercolor to dry before adding the gold ink, I decided to experiment with painting with legos. Since I already had my watercolor palette out I use those. It doesn’t look very much like how I imagined it would, but it did turn out nicely. It was fun to experiment.

In the afternoon we played arrow tag and I took the opportunity to photograph my son while he was shooting his arrows at me. Arrow tag arrows have a soft ball on the tips so it was a safe way to get a great action shot.

It was a fun day at camp and tomorrow will be fun-filled as well. We are planning on heading to Tawas for the Art show there. Once back to camp I’m going to check out the bathroom at the barn where I’ve been asked to paint a mural. I’ll take the measurements so I can make a plan for the walls.

What are you doing this Memorial Day weekend?
