My boys’ last day at St. Germaine

Today was the last day of school for my kids’ school. It was a bittersweet occasion with lots of fun and laughter along with goodbyes and tears. The school had a picnic for the students and their families in the afternoon. There were bounce houses, games, balloon animals and face painting.

Grrr

My youngest braved the long line and got two ballon swords and then this beautifully painted tiger face paint. She did an amazing job. Leif loves the face paint so much he has decreed that I buy a set of face paints so I can transform him into a lion at his whim.

I had a board meeting at the war memorial and on the way home I stopped by my moms to pick up some more of the food leftover from the party. It was just starting to get a little dark but the fish flies were making a valiant attempt at blocking the view of the sky. Just look at all them!

Zoom in to get the true scope of this swarm.

Tomorrow I need to pick up a pedestal for my Antonio sculpture for the Spring show. I also realized I need to sign my paintings and properly wire my triptych. Another busy day on the horizon.

This week is the drop off, judging and opening for our club Spring Show, and then Saturday I drop off for a second show in Pontiac and then again on Monday I drop off two more painting at the GPAA show. I’m a busy bee!

Have you ever looked up into a massive swarm of insects?
