Coneflower Buzz in the Ode to Mother Earth show, Jacquelyn Block

Today was my second opening this month. I have two pieces in the GPAA’s Ode to Mother Earth show at the War Memorial. Both my watercolors were accepted into this juried show, Coneflower Buzz and Rooted in Grief. I am very happy that my Rooted in Grief was accepted, as it holds a great deal of meaning for me.

They announced the theme for the next show this evening at the opening- Black and White. I decided to work on a few ideas tonight as I just took a picture that I thought would work as a black and white.

I also wanted to enter the following piece in the last B&W themed show but didn’t.

I have plenty of time to decide all my possible options, or create something fresh. Perhaps I’ll attempt a larger charcoal drawing as a challenge to myself. Or maybe a new pottery sculpture.

What are some of your favorite themes for art shows?
