This morning I didn’t have something specific in mind to work on during our Zoom with June. As I was logging on, my cat was playing with a piece of cardboard he no doubt tore from an Amazon box in the recycling pile. The random thought popped into my head- what if Schrödinger’s cat escaped the box. So that’s what I tried to capture in this morning’s watercolor. Sometimes I wonder about myself or I weird myself out, but I still keep getting drawn to these weird ideas. At least I have an outlet for such weirdness. Writing and art probably keep me sane by providing a conduit to route the strangeness in my brain. Just imagine if all these ideas just stayed crammed into my festering mind. Yikes!

This afternoon I took my pottery wheel outside to play with my son. It’s a little challenging trying to center with the wheel on a lawn table, but we made it work. He had a blast decorating the little pots. And wow do they dry fast out in the fresh air! I didn’t take any pictures because I left my phone safely in the house. I put my son in his bathing suit and we were both pretty well coated in clay. This evening when I looked in the mirror I saw that I had some in my hair. Definitely need a shower before bed tonight.
