Today was Friday which means Zoom with June in the morning. I figured I’d but the gold on my beads and charms and such, then paint a watercolor. Turns out I underestimated the time it takes to put the gold wax on each of these small pieces and buff it to shine. I was using qtips as my wax brush Selwa’s way oversized for this task. The cotton swabs did not hold up to the texture of the underglazed pottery, but I managed to make it work. I like how they turned out, however I didn’t have time left for a watercolor.

My son did a couple paintings while I was gilding. He was so proud to show off his work to the Zoom group. I like how his flowers look.

This evening I took some of the round beads I was working on and strung them together on some necklace cord. I think I’ll wear them tomorrow for my workshop and the Kaleidoscope show opening. I have an overlap in my events so I’ll be going strait from the workshop in midtown to Pontiac for the opening. It’ll be an adventure!
Do you have any exciting plans for this weekend?
