Today I dropped off artwork at the Posterity Gallery for our show with the Lakeside Palette Club. I submitted two ceramic pieces, my giraffe and my Sister Earth face sculpture.

This afternoon I worked on my story idea for a screenplay that I think will work better as a dramatic series, so I started coming up with ideas for the pilot and the continuing arc of the season. I also have a working title and a logline- all subject to change, of course!
Title: Parallel Horizons
Logline: After a head injury during a softball game, Emma awakens in an entirely different world—a futuristic society in space. Believing she has amnesia, her family dismisses the teen’s claims of a different reality, forcing Emma to navigate her new life while uncovering the truth about what happened to her.
I have my synopsis of the first episode, but haven’t started scripting it yet. I have been turning this idea around in my head for a couple weeks now and really wanted to get the ideas down on paper before I started to forget them.

I spent quite a bit of time on that so I didn’t give myself a lot of time for my painting today. As I left my usual supplies in the trunk of my mom’s car, I decided to try out this month’s Sketchbox contents. Watercolor bookmarks is the theme for this month, and it came with masking fluid which I generally avoid with a passion. I gave it a go today, although I am couldn’t believe how much the paper rolled up- it was crazy. It wasn’t till I was done and so disappointed in the quality of this paper that I realized they have a piece of blank paper between the cover and the actual watercolor paper. Oops. But this was a good trial run for using the masking fluid. It comes out way faster than I expected, so next time I should be more prepared. It’s not bad considering it’s painted on what is basically copy paper.
What silly mistake have you made recently?
