Intersections in Space-Time, Jacquelyn Block

Today I had an idea for a watercolor with geometric shapes. I started by drawing in ink some lines and circles. Then I started putting down the color where it felt right. Sometimes I followed the lines I had drawn, other times I made new shapes or blended one color into another. It was an exercise in intuitive painting. I had no plan other than I wanted lines and circles. Since my palette had the yellow, orange, red, and green from yesterday’s painting I decided to stick with those colors. When I had finished I looked at my watch and was surprised to see how much time had passed. I was really sucked into the process and it felt as those my time was out of sync with that of the rest of the world.

What were you doing when you last were so absorbed in your task that you lost your sense of time?
