Along the Trail, Jacquelyn Block

Sometimes I like to paint from a photo without looking at the actual picture, but rather my memory of the experience. Today’s painting is one of these exercises. As the majority of my family is up north right now I have had that on my mind so I wasn’t surprised that this is the image that came to mind.

Last year when we were up together, I took a picture of some chokecherries with the last drops of morning dew clinging to them. My painting is of the memory of the experience, but once I finished I pulled up the photos that I took that day.
