Robin with Eggs, Jacquelyn Block

Today we celebrated the inaugural Robins’ Day holiday. It started as something my youngest dreamt we celebrated and at first he didn’t realize it was a dream and insisted it was in our calendar. Once he realized he had dreamed the whole event, we had a good laugh and then decided to make that dream come true. We scheduled it for July 28, a Sunday so we’d have friends over to celebrate with us. We made spaghetti nests with meatball eggs for dinner and had dirt cake with gummy worms for dessert. To drink we hade robins-egg-blue-raspberry lemonade. My son had a blast and we will continue with this tradition next year.

I also gifted my friend the painting I worked on during Friday’s Zoom with June, along with the poem inspired from the painting. She loved both and now I can share them here.
