This afternoon my mom invited us out for a boat ride since the weather was nice then, before the evening rains moved in. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water- the sun was shining but the clouds would move in periodically to grant us shade. In the canal back home, I snapped a photograph of my son, and thought it would make a good watercolor.

I loved the bright red glasses and life jacket. Sometimes my colors are a little too limited and I think that makes some of my paintings look bland. I don’t feel that way about this painting.
The opening for the Black and White show at the GPAA gallery at the War Memorial was this evening. There were so many amazing artworks on display. Two of our club members received awards for their photographs. The show runs through September 20th if you are in the area, I recommend checking it out.
I thought for this month I’d do something a little different on the blog. I’ll share an inspirational theme in my final question which you can use to create art or writing or whatever you make. If you make something and would like to share it I’ll include it in my next blog post.
What comes to your mind when you think about water?
