RenCen View, Jacquelyn Block

In a few weeks we will be visiting the River Walk for our final Paint-out of the summer. I thought I should finally paint this view of the Renaissance Center from Milliken State Park. Last year’s paintout was on a beautiful sunny day with a few puffy white clouds to make for a more interesting sky. I had my youngest son with me so we didn’t stay at any one location for very long, with the exception of the playscapes. My one sketch drawn on location was of the Renaissance Center behind a geometric play set.

When we were not at a playground, we were walking the trails in Milliken State park. I took some good photos, including one of the Renaissance Center rising up behind a field of black-eyed Susan’s.

Is there an iconic skyline in your area that could inspire your creativity?
