We had a beautiful day today without much wind and waves, so it was a perfect day for a boat ride. The sun was out for most of our trip, but at one point on the way back home it moved behind a big thick cloud. The sunbeams were streaming from around it and it looked very dramatic.

We also saw lots of turtles sunning themselves in the Ford Cove. There had to be at least two dozen of them on the sunny side of the shore, a couple on each downed branch or log. My son had a blast seeing all the turtles, as did we all.

I received good news just before we left for our boat ride- I was accepted as a participating artist for the Art Takeover Project 2024. My art will be on display at the Posterity Gallery, #1 on the walk. Kick off for the event is September 5th, and there will be a scavenger hunt and prizes and voting for your favorite artist. The Art will be on display through the end of September so if you are in Grosse Pointe, be sure to check it out.
I realize that all of today’s pictures are in the theme sun or son; can you use the sun or a son as inspiration for your art today?
