Today was our first day of our second annual art and lemonade sale during the citywide garage sale. We painted a colorful abstract painting together, as well as ourselves a bit too, to use as our sign. Leif really enjoyed painting on the big canvas, which I laid down on the grass.

Unfortunately the weather was not as cooperative as last year and we had significantly less traffic. Leif was able to sell some lemonade, but I did not sell any art nor even come close to a sale. I had an unusually high number of people who just wanted to give me advice on how or where I should sell my art. I have done a craft show before, and fine art isn’t always a great fit. That show I didn’t even cover my table fee. At least today I’m not in the negatives and I got to do some art while sitting in my front yard.

I did do a name painting for my mom who reads my blog, so got a free painting for coming to see us. I thought it turned out cute.
We will try again tomorrow so if you’re in the area, please stop and chat for a while. I’ll make you a mini painting.
I used a painting on canvas as my sign for today’s sale- in what way can you use your creative process to accomplish an ordinary task and make it interesting?
