I have had too many funerals this year. But these sad occasions have inspired me to create handmade sympathy cards to give to the family. I made this one featuring a grove of birch tree to bring to Uncle Mikes memorial service tomorrow. I find the process of painting while thinking of the deceased and praying for comfort for their families, to be healing for myself.

I usually add a small related image on the back of the card along with my signature. Today though I was inspired to paint the entire backside.
