Today was a productive day glazing some of my bisque fired pieces. I started the evening working on my blue heron wall sculpture. I decided to use some black underglaze on the areas of the heron that should be blue, and then put the gloss white over everything save the beak and eye. The black under the white looks like the right shade of blue on the test tile. I’m excited to see how it turns out!

After the heron, I will red on glazing my nativity sets, the snowman, the ankylosaurus, and the demitasse mug for my husband. I changed up the colors on my nesting nativity figures, setting them apart from previous versions.

I do need to remember to stand up and stretch more while I’m glazing. I find my body aches from scrunching over my work area. It’s hard, because I get so focused.
What activity captures your attention so much you forget to stop and stretch once in a while?
