Today was Friday again, which means another Zoom with June. When I logged on I was still undecided on what to paint. I started flipping through my photos on my phone and came across a picture of my son from our Disney trip last year. There was a really nice contrast in the picture with how the light and shadows fell on his face. A perfect picture to help hone my portrait skills. The ladies on the Zoom with me are both talented painters with portrait skills far above mine, but they were very encouraging of my progress.
I had the most trouble getting the mouth and nose right, but after a few attempts I’m happy with how it turned out.
Last year this time I don’t think I would have even attempted to paint this so I can definitely see the improvement I am making over time.
What skill have you been working on improving in your own creative journey?
