Pumpkin Field, Jacquelyn Block

During the height of the pandemic when I had so many zoom meetings, I started a journal of continuous line drawings. I would do these to occupy myself and help me keep focused on the meetings. Once the public meeting restrictions were lifted I fell out of practice. I was thinking about these drawings today, and since tomorrow is the first day of Fall I wanted to do something Autumn-y. I had lots of ideas, but settled on a pumpkin field. I added a scarecrow and some crows for interest. I actually put the paper on my shoulder to do this as I left my glasses in the bedroom and didn’t want to wake my sleeping husband searching for them. I can only see clear-ish for a couple inches without my glasses. It turned out pretty nifty considering I did it nearly blind and was out of practice.

I was originally thinking I’d watercolor over the ink, but I kind of like it the way it is. What do you think?

Should I leave it as is or paint over it with watercolors?
