Today was a good haul day for my finished pottery pieces. I brought home two nesting nativities, a snowman, an espresso demitasse mug for my husband and my blue heron wall sculpture. I put away the heron in a safe spot and will take some good photos tomorrow in the daylight, so you’ll have to wait to see that one. But the rest turned out great too. My husband likes the demitasse- he only has a handle detail that he’d like changed. So I’ll get to the mark2 mug soon.

Since I’m working on Christmasy things, I asked my son if there was anything in particular he’d like me to make for his teacher. He has commissioned me to make her a Christmas tree necklace complete with a star on top. Maybe I’ll make three so he can give one to each of his grandmothers. He has such a strong idea that his gifts need to be from him that he actually pays me a quarter a piece for the gifts I make for him so he can say that he bought them just for the recipient. It’s very cute.

I’m a bit obsessed with the giant slugs that are out when we walk to the bus stop each morning. Although my son chided me for personifying the slugs. “They can’t talk so they aren’t coming out to say ‘Good Morning’ to us, Mom.”
