Today I decided to use my watercolor pencils for our zoom studio session. I found some squash pictures from the farmer’s market and thought they would be a fun thing to paint with the pencils. I used a different technique than I have in the past with watercolor pencil. I held the pencils more like a paint brush and made a lot of squiggly marks to fill in the color. After I had the colors in, I activated it with water and a brush. Once finished you could see some of the pencil marks. I liked this effect and went back and added some more marks in the areas without.
Have you experimented with watercolor pencils; if so, what was your favorite thing about them?
