Today the Inktober prompt was ‘discover.’ walking with my son in the mornings we always are looking out for our slug friends who are enjoying the cooler, damp fall mornings we’ve been having. Today for my photo-a-day for the American Cancer Society challenge was a wide angle shot of our friendly neighborhood slug. This ended up inspiring my sketch of my son discovering a snail while looking through a magnifying glass.

I like finding a connection between the two challenges and will look for additional ways to connect my daily photo and sketch throughout this month.

My wonderful friend hosted a lovely Rosh Hashanah dinner his evening where she cooked everything gluten free so I could enjoy the meal with everyone. I almost forgot that I had made her a little pomegranate plate several months ago for this occasion. I nearly forgot, and was working on apple and honey paintings. I made this little graphic with one of those paintings so it was not a wasted effort. And I extend a Happy New Year to all who are celebrating; may the next year be filled with love and peace.
I love this time of year with all the harvest fruits and vegetables in the markets and the colors on the trees; what about the fall season inspires you and your creativity,
