Snacking squirrel, Jacquelyn Block

For today’s prompt of snacks, I was reminded of the picture I took a while ago of this super friendly and bold squirrel at Blossom Heath Park. He was so used to getting fed by the seniors who frequent the park that he has no fear of people therefore came right up to me and put his little hands out for food. Normally I don’t feed the wildlife, but this little guy was obviously already trained to be dependent on handouts. I offered him an apricot in exchange for allowing me to take some pictures.

Kids at the park, Jacquelyn Block

While I was sketching at the picnic table, my kids were hanging together at the swing set. I took this as my photo a day picture- nice to see my kids all enjoying spending time together. My oldest is home for the weekend from college and we surprised the youngest as he got off the bus. It was a beautiful fall day for hanging at the park this afternoon. We are truly having a mild autumn so far. I feel a little guilty as the rest of the country seems to be getting the short end of the weather stick.

Autumn at the Marina, Jacquelyn Block

This morning was also our Zoom with June, and I worked on a watercolor from one of the photos I took the other day at the marina. I’m not quite finished, but I’m liking is so far.

Are you participating in an October challenge?
