Today’s Inktober prompt was guide book, but I was inspired to draw my traveler’s journal. I set up a still life of my journal and my straw hat and took a picture to work from, since I needed the notebook to make the sketch.

I walk to the bus stop at the far end of my street and back twice a day so am always using this time to take my photo a day shots. Today I was struck by the contrast between the clear blue sky with the bright sun out, and the thick rain-laden clouds at the horizon. it cleared up just in time for the afternoon pick-up for the kiddos.
