Today’s inktober prompt was Rhinoceros, so I knew I had oodles of photos to choose from on my phone over our many visits to the Detroit Zoo. I chose to use a couple photos as inspiration from my youngest’s field trip last spring. He and his friends thought the rhinos looked like baked potatoes. I couldn’t help but agree a little.

For my photo a day challenge I got my shot this morning at Miller Marina. One of our LPC members has been posting great Marina shots the past couple weeks and he inspired me. Then later when I was waiting for the bus this very friendly squirrel visited me and was kind enough to pose for some photos.

And an update on my script process- I scrapped my old idea and started over fresh. I love this new idea more and got my outline and story beats all laid out. Here’s my WIP logline:
After finding a mysterious journal written in an ever-changing language and unlocking an armoire with an antique key, a linguistics professor from Detroit slips between alternate versions of her life. As she confronts the consequences of paths not taken, she must solve the puzzle of the journal before becoming unmoored from all realities.
I have a tendency to pack a lot in my log lines so when I finish the script I will try and make it a bit tighter. I feel much more confident with this story and hopefully will find my progress to go much more quickly now.
What is the last project you decided to scrap in order to go in a completely different direction?
