Road, Jacquelyn Block

Today’s Inktober prompt was road, and living in Michigan, I associate pot holes with our roads. I have to say while today’s prompt isn’t that interesting for me, my post yesterday of the Pentax camera was fun to do, and also connected me with friends and family happy to show me how to use my dad’s old camera. How cool is that!

I took the boys trick or treating on my mom’s street this afternoon. We stuck around for the chili cookoff, although I myself couldn’t participate in the sampling. Chili is a risky business with a gluten sensitivity combined with the red dye sensitivity. But the boys enjoyed the chili tasting and had fun playing at the park.

Unfortunately once we got home I had to jump right into getting ready for our STS dinner, so I didn’t have time to work more on my script. Tomorrow after I take my youngest to the bus I am working straight through the morning. I really want the first draft finished so I can start having my proofreaders take a look at it. While I really like my new story idea, I wish I didn’t spend so much of the month trying to make my first idea work. It seems now that I have the ideas, I don’t have the time to get them typed out. Murphy’s law I guess. But I am determined to get this script finished and submitted by the deadline. Even if it doesn’t make it to the finals, at least I can say I’ve written a feature length script. The first time doing a big project like this is usually the most intimidating.

Are you tackling any projects that are overwhelming you right now?
