Navigator, Jacquelyn Block

I was determined to finish the rough draft of my script last night before I went to bed. So a little after 3am I finally typed “Fade Out.” That gave me only two hours of sleep last night so I’ve been a bit scattered today. So with a prompt like navigator, I decided to just go pretty literal and sketch a sextant. They are pretty neat devices, although I myself have only seen them in pictures or behind glass at a museum. I looked at a few different pictures of sextants and there are some variations, so I used a bit of my artistic license here.

Leaf in the wind, Jacquelyn Block

On the way to pick up my son from the school bus this afternoon, this really pretty leaf was on my path. I love how the yellow is at the bottom and just a touch more along the veins. The wind was pretty strong and steady so I only got this one shot before it blew away. The grey of my jeans and the sidewalk only enhance the vibrancy of the colors. An imperfect picture- but I like it.

Are the leaves changing colors where you live right now?
