Tomorrow will be the last day of October and my final day for my month of three separate creative challenges. Inktober has been an interesting experience, as I sometimes found the prompts to be repetitive or uninspiring, but I’ve stuck with them. Today was violin, so pretty straightforward.

The second challenge in which I’ve been participating this month is the Photo a day for the American Cancer Society. No daily prompt for this one, so it was easier, since I have a decent camera on my phone. I took this shot of the two headed goose my mom is sculpting from the broken goose that came with her new house. I love the two-headed goose and love that she is doing this. I also took a picture of the beautiful morning sky at the bus stop this morning.

My third project this month was the Short feature scriptwriting contest. My rough draft is finished and tomorrow morning I’ll be making the edits suggested by my amazing group of beta readers. I am truly fortunate to have a group of friends and family so willing to help me out. Thank you! I hope to submit it before I pick up my son from school, since I’m sure to get caught up in the Halloween excitement and don’t want to miss the deadline of 10pm.
I’d love to say my November will be calmer, but it’s going to be a busy month as well. I think they all are at this point. I’ll rest when I’m dead.
Today I also participated in my first poetry slam. It was a lot of fun and I did far better than I expected. I credit my three terms as president of the Palette club with helping me to conquer my nerves when speaking to a group. I did better at the event than when I was practicing at home.
Have you ever participated in a poetry slam, or open mic?
