Drifting Off Course, Jacquelyn Block

Wow- 312 days since I’ve started this journey. It has become such a big part of my daily routine that I’m feeling conflicted about the end of this adventure. I have to do some thinking on how I will engage with this blog once I reach that 366th day. It isn’t too far off now. My options are: to just leave it as is and stop posting new pages here while starting a new blog to continue posting my art and stuff, Keep going after the end of the year and keep blogging here, either daily or on a new schedule, or something else entirely.

Since I spent much of today working on other projects and running errands, and filled my free time with pondering the future of this blog, I decided to play with some of my pictures to make a composite photograph. I started thinking I’d use an image of a train, mirroring my train of thought today, but as I was thinking “freight train” I changed my mind and decided to go with a freighter, nautical theme.

Perhaps this is because I’ll be working tomorrow morning as a background extra for a short film with a Coast Guard theme. You never know what’s gonna come out of my head with all my thoughts jumbled around in there. That’s part of the reason I will often use my dreams to help get everything all sorted out and coherent for a story I’m writing. I feel less of a need to do that for visual art, although sometimes it’s happened unintentionally.

Do you have any suggestions on what the future of this blog should look like?
