Today I spent my art making time working on the cover for our Fall Show program, as well as creating the award inserts we pass out after the awards are presented tomorrow. Those are top secret though, so I’m not sharing that!

I have two pieces in this show, both purple flowers! I didn’t realize that until I was packing them up to bring to intake earlier this week. But at least, style wise, they are very different from each other. I made the iris painting for the my masterpiece show which is closing at the GPAA tomorrow. It didn’t get in, although two of my other pieces did. The thistles I painted during a Zoom with June from a photo I took at our clubs paint-out at the Ford Estate. Since it was 100% club inspired it was a natural choice for this show.
If you are local to the Detroit area, I hope you will join us tomorrow for our potluck opening. We always have a fun time and love to share our art with new faces.
What was the last art opening you’ve attended?
