Today was busy, busy! Getting ready for an art show is a lot of work. I made the ribbons for the show, took some trial and error, but I think they came out nicely.

A Palette of Thanks

Good evening, all, beneath this glow,

Amidst the hues that ebb and flow.

Tonight, we gather, hearts alight,

To celebrate this vibrant sight.

To the artists first, a grateful cheer,

For filling these walls with vision clear.

Each stroke, each shade, a story told,

In colors warm, in tones so bold.

You’ve shared your soul, your dreams, your art,

A gift that touches every heart.

Your works inspire, they heal, they teach,

A world of beauty within our reach.

To those who helped this show take flight,

The volunteers who worked day and night—

Setting up, arranging, making it shine,

This seamless magic is your design.

To families, friends, your steadfast care,

For standing by, for being there.

You’ve nurtured dreams, you’ve lent your grace,

You are the warmth in this creative space.

And to our juror, Treena Flannery Ericson,

For guiding this show with thoughtful precision.

Your keen eye and wisdom shared,

Have shaped this showcase, deeply cared.

So here’s to all who’ve made this real,

This feast of color, thought, and feel.

Let’s celebrate, with hearts sincere,

For art, for love, and for being here.

Thank you all for this wondrous night,

For lifting the soul with creative light.

I usually start our award presentation with a thank you speech, but this year, since I’ve been writing poems every week, I decided to write a poem for the occasion. Our attendees seemed to enjoy the poem. I always am so busy at our events that I don’t have a chance to take pictures. Luckily my friend Jill sent me some photos she took tonight. She won an honorable mention for her photo- congratulations Jill!

My watercolor ‘Thisles’ received an honorable mention.

It was a successful night and filled with so many great artists and artworks. If you missed the opening you can still see the show through December 17th. And vote for your favorite artwork for our People’s Choice Award.

What is the last big event that you organized or participated in planning?
