This afternoon I helped teach kids, and a few adults, how to make origami cranes, during the War Memorial’s Tree lighting event. My favorite part is the looks on their faces when I’d have them pull the wings out and the crane opens up. The look of joy at the transformation from folded paper to paper bird is magical.

The room we were in was the library, and it houses a beautiful grand piano. I took the opportunity while the guests were all outside watching the tree lighting to take some photos in the piano and around the room.

This is my second Christmas themed event I’ve been to this year and it’s not even Thanksgiving. My candy cane sweater will get a lot of wear this year.
