Tonight I was floundering on what I should do. I wasn’t really in the mood for painting or drawing but have been full of kinetic energy all weekend. It suddenly occurred to me that this would be the perfect time to try out an aluminum foil sculpture that I saw demonstrated on a social media post a few months back.

As I often do when trying out a new technique, I decided to use a pear for inspiration. I think it is easily recognizable as a pear, and I think I’ll try out this technique on some other subjects. For this first attempt I used fresh aluminum foil, but I can see reusing cleaned foil from cooking as a way to recycle and reuse waste that may otherwise end up in a landfill.
Have you tried making foil sculptures before?
