Today as I was heading out of the house a squirrel was visiting my front walk. I only was able to snap a couple quick shots before he scampered off. But he inspired me to try something more complex than a pear for my second foil sculpture.

It is a little more challenging to sculpt something so cylindrical with a single sheet of foil. In the demo I watched the woman hot glued pieces together, but I didn’t have a glue gun handy so I just got creative while folding up my squirrel shape. Pulling out and defining the small appendages was the most difficult aspect for me. I am happy that it’s recognizable as a squirrel and I take that as a win.

I also decided to take one of my squirrel shots and give it the filtered light magic. The picture wasn’t the clearest, but the softness of the filtered light effect hides it well.
Do you have a lot of squirrels in your neighborhood?
