This evening I had the pleasure of attending my friend’s annual Hanukkah dinner. She is an amazing cook and goes out of her way to make as much of her meal as possible gluten-free for me, including her delicious latkes. I am lucky to have such an awesome and loving friend! Today she made a heart-shaped latke and I asked her to pose with it for tonight’s post.

After dinner we have a white elephant Dreidel game. Our friend Brianscotte, of Blessed Memory, came up with the rules and had shared them with me, so fortunately, we can continue the tradition even in his absence. It was a wonderful evening, and my youngest was telling me the whole drive home how much fun he had and what school and nice boy my friend’s nephew was. He really made a good impression on my son. Especially his card trick!
Do you hold on to any traditions started by a departed loved one?
