Winter Rain in Reflected Light, Jacquelyn Block

Today was one of those grey rainy winter days where I don’t want to leave the house unless absolutely necessary. And except for a dash to take trash out, I hunkered down and avoided leaving the house today. My youngest was happy to keep me busy playing Terraria with him and in the evening we had my friend over for Stargate. We started season nine, and my son was super excited to see Ben Browder and Claudia Black in the episodes. He loves Farscape and has barely tolerated Stargate, but tonight he watched eagerly.

Tall Grass in Reflected Light, Jacquelyn Block

I have been thinking about my pear faces and I can’t wait to get back to the studio to make more, but for today I decided to play with some ideas in my reflected light series. I liked the way the tall grass was looking, but listening to the rain hit the window panes, inspired me to make a winter rain feeling one. I think I captured the cool, wet feeling that I was intending to emphasize.

What is your least favorite winter weather?
